We've made it into the Saffron Walden Reporter with our latest repair activity - giving an angel back her wings.

The angel, one of four ornamental figures on the pew ends in the chancel of All Saints’ Church in Great Chesterford, had been missing its wings for many years.

Churchwarden David Maskell said he was thrilled with the result and arranged to have the restored angel blessed by vicar Ella Harris at the Sunday service.

The wings had been kept in a drawer by a parishioner, who later contacted the Chesterford Community Men's Shed to ask if they could help restore them.

John French, a founding member of the shed, said: "It is exactly the sort of project our members are keen to do for the benefit of the community."

JOb #2 - 4th March

The lecturn in All Saints Church in Great Chesterford had recently been damaged by vandalism. Chris Cole and David Maskell from the Chesterfords Shed put it right.

Job #3 - 4th March

Another job in the Great Chesterford church. This time Chris Cole repaied one of the chairs.

Job #1 - 21st Feb

Chesterfords Community Men’s Shed has only been in existence for one month, but we have already completed our first Repair Shop project. Mrs Christine Greet has a Victorian corner unit passed down through the family, but some of the parts had become detached. Luckily Martin Sykes and David Maskell were able to fix it and give the cabinet a clean and wax. Christine was delighted and made a generous donation to our Shed.
